Heather Mulvey, C-IAYT, has been practicing yoga since 1998 and has studied various styles of yoga. Her approach to teaching is to offer a class that is accessible to everyone in an open-hearted and serene environment, while offering guidance to tune inward and nurture our present state. She delights in witnessing the sense of well-being, grounding, confidence, and compassion found in the yoga practice extend into our daily lives. Heather is a graduate Rutgers University, Devalila Yoga Teacher Training, and Inner Peace Yoga Therapy Program.
Heather's yoga therapy training areas of focus include grief, chronic pain, depression, heart health, back care, cancer care, and functional yoga therapy. Heather has trained with Nischala Joy Devi, Lillah Schwartz, Neil Pearson, Amy Weintraub, Stephanie Pappas, Laura Kupperman, Maria Mendola, Durga, Dr. Marc Halpern, Richard Miller, Terry Roth Schaff, and Leslie Howard.
Heather is certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and teaches group and private classes throughout the central New Jersey region. She is American Heart Association Adult CPR & AED Certified. Heather’s interests include hiking with her Golden Retriever, kayaking, bird watching, gardening with her husband, tending to their chickens, performing music, and cooking.
According to the International Association of Yoga Therapists, Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.
